Premiere Roofing, a residential and commercial roofer based in Irmo, South Carolina, announced on October 20 that it is acquiring ATD Roofing of Greenville and bringing the two teams together “under the Premiere Roofing banner.” ATD customers keep access to the same local crews, and all existing warranties remain intact. Mike Shaw of the ATD leadership team said the company will “continue protecting homes and businesses under the Premiere Roofing name.”
The release does not mention Archline Service Partners, but Archline owns both companies. According to Archline’s March 2025 announcement, Colmont Group formed the Charlotte, North Carolina platform in January 2024 when it acquired ATD, then added Premiere on March 25, 2025. ATD was Archline’s founding company. Our read is that Archline is folding its first brand into its second, larger-footprint brand rather than buying a company from an outside owner.
The companies.
Premiere Roofing is headquartered on Broad River Road in Irmo, outside Columbia, and its website says it has served customers since 2008. It does residential and commercial roofing across Central and Coastal South Carolina. ATD Roofing serves Greenville and the surrounding Upstate, so the combined brand now reaches from the coast to the Upstate.
Archline describes itself as a network of residential roofing and exterior improvement companies, built as a roll-up in residential roof repair and replacement. Colmont Group, led by Managing Partner Houston Stokes, is the sponsor. Colmont also owns Southeast Mechanical, a Southeast HVAC, plumbing and electrical platform.
Why roofing platforms consolidate brands.
Platforms usually buy roofers for their local names and keep those names for a while. Folding two brands into one in the same state is a later-stage move, and the reasons are mostly operational:
One marketing budget. Residential roofing runs on lead generation. Two brands in neighboring markets means two websites, two sets of search and review profiles, and two ad budgets competing for overlapping customers. One brand concentrates that spend and the reviews behind it.
Shared crews and resources. Under one name, a platform can move crews, estimators and equipment between Columbia and Greenville after a storm or during a busy season, and buy materials, insurance and software as one business. The release points to “expanded resources,” “cutting-edge technology” and “faster response times.”
Warranties and customer trust. A roofer’s warranty book is a long-dated promise to past customers. Saying up front that every ATD warranty stays in force protects referrals and repeat business while the name on the truck changes. Premiere is also offering a complimentary roof health check to mark the transition, which keeps ATD customers in contact with the new brand.
A cleaner platform to sell or grow. Fewer brands mean simpler reporting, one set of systems and an easier story for the next buyer or lender. Consolidating early also gives later add-ons in the Carolinas a clear brand to join.
The move sits a little apart from how Colmont describes the platform. Its portfolio page says each Archline partner brand “retains its local name, its team, and the reputation it earned,” and that Colmont has never acquired a business and rebranded it. ATD’s team and warranties stay; its name goes. For owners talking to Archline or any platform, the lesson is that brand promises made at close can change as the platform matures.
What it means.
For roofing owners in the Carolinas weighing a platform partnership, ask what happens to your name in year two and beyond. If your brand is likely to be merged into a sister company, the questions that matter are who leads the combined market, how your warranty obligations are handled, whether your earnout or retained equity is measured on your business or the combined one, and what happens to your team’s roles. These are negotiable before signing and much harder to change afterward.
