As first reported by Homepros (Maggie Fipps, October 16, 2026).

Stronghouse Solutions, a private equity-backed network of primarily residential roofing brands, is being handed to its creditors by its sponsor, O2 Investment Partners, Homepros reported on October 16. According to documents viewed by Homepros, Stronghouse, O2 and the company's creditors agreed in September to a "comprehensive" recapitalization meant to reduce leverage and improve liquidity. O2 will "transfer ownership and governance rights" to the creditors, who are also putting additional capital into the business. Stronghouse is also searching for a new CEO. Homepros reports that what prompted the recapitalization, and its financial terms and timing, remain unclear, and Stronghouse and O2 did not return requests for comment.

The asset.

Stronghouse was formed in 2021 and, per Homepros, is based in Oak Brook, Illinois. It began as Capital Construction Holdings and rebranded as Stronghouse Solutions in January 2023, when it had five brands. Later add-ons included Gustafson Roofing of Boynton Beach, Florida, in July 2025, which O2 described as a regional hub for the platform's retail exterior division in the Southeast, and Centurion Exteriors of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in September 2025, which O2 called Stronghouse's second acquisition of the year. Homepros says the company's website shows operations in more than 30 states.

Per the documents Homepros reviewed, Stronghouse generated nearly $330 million of revenue and more than $60 million of EBITDA in 2025, which implies an EBITDA margin of roughly 18%. Storm response work accounted for 70% of revenue and retail for the remaining 30%.

The sponsor and the lenders.

O2 Investment Partners is a private equity firm that invests in lower middle-market companies. Homepros reports that credit-focused investment firm Sound Point Capital provided financing to Stronghouse in December 2022, though it could not confirm the full list of creditors, and Sound Point did not immediately comment. Under the agreement described in the documents, the lender group takes ownership and governance, adds new capital and will oversee the business going forward.

Storm revenue and fixed debt.

On the reported numbers, Stronghouse is large and profitable, and its lenders are adding money rather than walking away. The stated goals of the recapitalization, lower leverage and more liquidity, point to the capital structure as the pressure point. Storm response volume rises and falls with hail and wind seasons and insurer behavior, while debt service does not, which is why storm-heavy platforms have been building retail volume. Stronghouse was doing that through Gustafson and Centurion, and Results Roofing did the same this week with Journey Builders.

Homepros described Stronghouse as one of the first residential roofing platforms formed in the early-2020s consolidation wave, and a person familiar with the platform told Homepros the highs and lows of PE-backed platforms are "starting to surface." Formed in 2021, Stronghouse is now in the years when sponsors typically prepare an exit, a stage we cover in our PE roll-up phases piece.

What it means.

For roofing owners selling to a platform, the buyer's balance sheet decides what rollover equity, seller notes and earnouts are worth, because lenders are paid ahead of equity. Homepros did not report how founders who rolled equity into Stronghouse are treated in the recapitalization. Our breakdown of how a PE offer is structured covers the parts of the price that are not cash at close.
