Banner Capital announced October 19 that Roof Restoration Group (RRG), its Southwest-based commercial roofing and essential building services platform, has completed its first partnership with Exterior Solutions Group (ESG), a commercial roofing contractor headquartered in Edmond, Oklahoma. ESG founder Kyle Crawford will continue to lead the business, has joined the RRG board of directors, and reinvested alongside Banner Capital and RRG executives.

The asset.

Crawford, a fourth-generation roofer with more than 40 years in the industry, founded ESG in 2017. The company provides roof replacement, restoration and facility maintenance to K-12 public school districts, colleges and commercial property owners, and its website lists offices in Edmond and Tulsa. Crawford has completed projects nationwide, including the roof of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. Banner Principal McKay Potter, who sits on the RRG board, described ESG as one of the most respected roofing contractors serving Oklahoma schools.

The platform.

RRG sits in Banner Capital's Fund II and is built to partner with founder-led commercial roofing contractors across the Southwest and beyond. It provides capital plus shared finance, procurement, safety and national sales support, while partners keep their teams, brands and customer relationships. RRG's website lists Justin Ririe as chief commercial officer, Tom Miller as EVP and chief financial officer, and Andrew Manalo as VP of operations. RRG says ESG is the first of what it expects to be a series of partnerships.

Banner Capital is a lower middle-market private equity firm with offices in Utah and Arizona and $611 million of assets under management as of June 30, 2026. It invests in founder-led and family-owned commercial and essential services businesses in the Western U.S., typically with $4 million to $15 million of EBITDA, through growth investments, recapitalizations and ownership transitions.

Commercial roofing, school-district first.

Potter called commercial roofing "an essential, non-discretionary service" and singled out public schools as building owners that need trusted partners. ESG's mix of replacement, restoration and maintenance for school districts, colleges and commercial owners is the kind of work RRG plans to support with shared procurement, safety and national sales. RRG joins a group of sponsor-backed commercial roofing platforms that includes Skybound Service Partners and Nations Roof, while Tecta America keeps adding regional contractors.

What it means.

Founder-led commercial roofers in Oklahoma and the Southwest have a new platform buyer that keeps brands in place, puts the founder on the board and asks for reinvestment. Banner's typical $4 million to $15 million EBITDA range gives a sense of the size of business it backs, and RRG has said more partnerships are coming.
