West Shore Home announced on September 29 that it has acquired Wonder Windows, Showers & Baths, a second-generation, family-owned home improvement company headquartered in Rochester, New York, with additional locations in Buffalo and Syracuse. The acquisition includes two affiliated New York companies, BSL Direct Sales, Inc. d/b/a Wonder Windows and Wonder Showers & Baths, Inc., and adds more than 50 team members across sales, installation, and operations.

The asset.

Arthur Lazeroff founded Wonder in 1962, and the company has served homeowners across Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse for more than six decades. It is led today by Arthur’s son, Mark Lazeroff, Owner and President of BSL Direct Sales, and his business partner, Co-Owner Michael D. Haymes. Wonder provides replacement windows and doors along with shower and bath remodeling, product lines the release says align directly with West Shore Home’s core offerings.

Both owners are retiring following the transaction. Wonder’s management team will remain in place to guide the business across Western and Central New York.

The release notes that Rochester and Buffalo are New York’s second- and third-largest metro areas, with more than 2 million combined residents and some of the oldest owner-occupied housing stock in the country, which it says drives steady demand for replacement windows, doors, and bath remodeling.

The platform.

West Shore Home is headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and was founded in 2006. B.J. Werzyn is its Founder and CEO. The company describes itself as a technology-enabled home remodeling services provider with more than 3,000 employees operating in 32 states, and says it has completed more than 340,000 home renovations since its founding.

Werzyn said the market has “the housing profile, the customer base, and now the local team to grow with us,” and that West Shore plans to bring its technology and installation model to the homeowners Wonder’s teams already serve.

Three locations move to the West Shore Home brand.

West Shore plans to transition the Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse locations to its brand and operating model, consistent with its prior acquisitions. The deal adds two upstate New York metro areas to the company’s national footprint, with the local management team staying on as the owners retire.

What it means.

For owners of residential window, door, and bath remodeling companies in New York and the Northeast, West Shore Home is a strategic buyer that sells the same product categories, moves acquired locations onto its own brand, and keeps local management in place. Owners preparing for a conversation with a buyer like this should know how their revenue splits between windows, doors, and bath work, how their installation crews are structured, and how much management depth they have beyond the owners.
