Restoration Systems, Inc. (RSI), the Chaska, Minnesota commercial repair and restoration contractor backed by Blue Point Capital Partners, announced on November 3 that it has acquired Wells Masonry Restoration, Inc., a masonry and facade restoration firm based in New Palestine, Indiana, just outside Indianapolis. Wells will operate as Wells Restoration Systems, with President Rick Wells and the existing team staying in New Palestine. The deal gives RSI a fourth office, alongside Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, and its first in Indiana. Terms were not disclosed.

The asset.

Wells has spent more than two decades doing exterior facade and masonry restoration for building owners, property managers and design professionals across Indianapolis and central Indiana. That customer list is the asset. Facade work is relationship-driven and recurring: owners call the contractor who has already been on their building, and architects and engineers specify the crews they trust.

What Wells did not have was parking structures. RSI said its parking expertise, concrete repair, post-tension cable repair and traffic coatings, will now be offered to Wells’ customers, while Wells’ facade practice picks up RSI’s technical resources and equipment. CEO Blake Dronen’s pitch to Indianapolis owners is “one partner they trust from the facade down to the deck.”

The platform.

RSI has restored building facades and parking structures side by side since 1997, serving commercial, healthcare, education, government and multifamily customers across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, the Dakotas and Nebraska. Blue Point, a lower middle market firm managing more than $1.8 billion of committed capital, recapitalized RSI in April 2025, with Dronen, a second-generation owner-operator, staying on as CEO.

Wells lands about 18 months later. Blue Point Partner Brian Castleberry framed it as the plan coming through: extending RSI “into attractive new markets through disciplined, culture-first acquisitions.” Keeping the Wells name on the door and the team in place is consistent with that.

Two services, one owner.

The structural angle is the bundle. Most restoration contractors do either facades or parking decks. RSI has built its business on doing both for the same owners, and it is using M&A to plant that model in new cities: buy a facade shop with a good local reputation, then sell parking structure work into its customer base. The same building owner, property manager and engineer are buying both, and the region’s aging brick and post-tensioned concrete is not getting younger.

It is a different route than the residential and storm-driven consolidation we have covered, such as Solvane’s restoration build-out around Evolve. Commercial building envelope work is spec-driven, maintenance-heavy and tied to owners and design professionals rather than insurance claims, and sponsors are now pricing that as a platform.

What it means.

If you own a masonry, facade, waterproofing or parking restoration company in the Midwest, sponsor-backed platforms are now looking for exactly your profile: a regional name with long-standing owner and architect relationships that can absorb a second service line. Expect buyers to ask how repeat your customer base is, how much of your work is maintenance versus one-time projects, your mix of commercial, healthcare, government and multifamily work, and whether your crews and leadership stay after close. If you keep your brand and your role, understand what that commits you to and for how long.
