Golden Gate Capital announced on November 2 the recapitalization of All U Need Pest Control, a residential pest control company serving homes across Florida, Texas, and South Carolina. Founder and Executive Chairman Steve Groeper and CEO Kyle Selbach will continue to lead the company and remain shareholders, along with the broader senior leadership team. Terms were not disclosed.
The asset.
All U Need provides general pest control, termite prevention, mosquito management, rodent services, and related work for homeowners, and markets eco-friendly, family-safe methods. According to the release, it serves more than 50,000 customers from 12 locations. It is ranked No. 41 on Pest Control Technology’s Top 100 and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fast-growing private companies; its August 2026 announcement said it was the fifth consecutive year.
Golden Gate credits the company with a service delivery model that drives market-leading customer retention. That is the core of what a buyer pays for in residential pest: recurring quarterly or monthly service, and customers who stay on the route year after year.
The investor.
Golden Gate Capital is a San Francisco private equity firm that invests in industrials, consumer services, and related sectors. Managing Director Mike Montgomery called All U Need one of the fastest-growing pest control companies in the country and pointed to recurring revenue from loyal customers and what he described as a unique customer acquisition model. Managing Director Neale Attenborough said the firm plans to bring its experience scaling residential services businesses to accelerate the company’s growth.
LR Tullius and The Aust Group jointly served as exclusive financial advisors to All U Need, with MHR Law as legal counsel. Holland & Knight advised Golden Gate.
Built from the inside, not bought.
The structural point is how All U Need got here. The release says its growth over the past eight years has been organic, both inside existing markets and through opening new greenfield locations. The company has made acquisitions, including Pest Control Geeks when it entered South Carolina in 2025, but Golden Gate’s thesis is about a repeatable way to win customers and open branches, not a stack of acquired companies.
That changes what a sponsor is underwriting. A roll-up’s value depends on buying the next company at the right price. A greenfield model’s value depends on whether a new branch can hire, sell, and reach density on a predictable timeline. Golden Gate says its capital will fund expansion into new and existing markets across the Southeast, which points to more branch openings, with acquisitions as an option rather than the plan.
The pest control M&A environment.
Residential pest remains one of the steadiest categories for private capital in home services. In September, Coalesce Capital made a growth investment in ClearDefense Pest Control, another founder-led Southeast operator with an organic sales engine, and Anticimex added Environmental Pest Management. Both All U Need and ClearDefense kept their founders in charge with equity rolled, rather than selling outright to a national consolidator.
What it means.
If you own a residential pest company, the way you grow shapes the buyers you attract. A company that can show it opens branches and adds customers on its own, with retention to back it up, can draw growth capital that lets the founder keep a stake and keep running the business. A buyer will look at retention by cohort, cost to acquire a customer, how long a new location takes to break even, and whether the sales and technician pipeline works without the founder in the room. Those numbers usually matter more than the headcount of trucks.
