Executive Exteriors, a Texas-based provider of specialty roofing and exterior restoration services, has received an investment from Corbel Capital Partners and Sea Pine Equity Partners. Founder Drake Gordon retains a significant ownership stake and continues to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Executive Exteriors serves residential and commercial customers and operates a second market in Florida. Its roofing work spans specialty and advanced systems — slate, clay tile, copper and metal fabrication, and historic assemblies — alongside commercial systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, and built-up roofing. The company also manages insurance-claim inspection, documentation, and scope negotiation, and handles complete exterior restoration covering waterproofing, building envelope, stucco and siding, windows, and paint.
Gordon framed the decision around structure rather than capital, saying the priority was a partnership that would let the company “remain founder-led while accelerating our long-term vision.”
The capital behind the deal
Corbel Capital Partners is a Los Angeles-based investment firm that provides flexible debt and equity capital to lower-middle-market businesses, managing SBIC and special opportunity funds and reporting more than $1 billion of institutional capital under management. It works with management teams, business owners, and financial sponsors on tailored capital structures.
Sea Pine Equity Partners is a Florida-based private equity firm focused on lower-middle-market service companies. It is headquartered in Jacksonville Beach, takes controlling positions, and states a preference for partnering with founders and existing management teams in markets exhibiting a high degree of consolidation, with a platform threshold of at least $2 million of EBITDA.
The stated use of the investment is straightforward: new branch openings, sales-team expansion, and acquisitions of complementary roofing and exterior-services businesses. This is a platform investment rather than an exit — the business is being capitalized to grow and to buy.
What it means
Roofing and exterior services have drawn steady private capital for several years, and the set of buyers has broadened well past the large sponsor-backed platforms that get most of the attention. A founder-led regional business recapitalized by a specialty capital provider alongside a lower-middle-market equity firm, with the founder staying in the chair and rolling meaningful equity, is now a familiar shape in this category rather than an exception.
For owners of roofing and exterior services businesses, the practical read is that more than one kind of counterparty is active in the market right now, and they are not all looking for the same thing or offering the same structure. What that means for any particular company depends on the business, its market, and what its owner is actually trying to accomplish.
Curious how a buyer would see your business?
Acquirer interest in roofing and exterior services has been steady and well capitalized, and most owners have never had a clear read on what their company is worth or which buyers would genuinely be interested. If you’d like an honest assessment of where you stand — valuation, likely buyer interest, and what your options really are — we’re glad to talk. No pitch, no pressure.
